Using only one light in a low key environment can help getting stunning portraits. The mystery of low key hard shadows, hiding parts of the face and the body, provokes the viewer’s imagination.
I am using a 180cm parabolic light former, where the focus point can be adjusted. This allows a lot of control over the outcome of the image. It can be determined how hard the shadows should be. For this series I adusted the focal point almost to the maximum softness, helping me to produce a quite pleasing softness in the highlighted areas.
I love the results and I am happy Queenie was also pleased with it. I think these images suit her personality quite well.
Thank you!
