Portrait Photography

“A portrait! What could be more simple and more complex, more obvious and more profound?”

Charles Baudelaire, 1859

Clients come to for a portrait photo session always for a reason. Some need a portrait for a new job application or for business purpose. Some clients just want to have a nice photo for themselves, while others might want to give it to their loved ones. And there is always an idea, what the portrait should express. Do you want to be seen as a dynamic manager or a caring business owner? Are you energetic or thoughtful? Do you express strength and competence or is empathy the perception you want to generate in the viewers eyes?

To get an understanding and being able to achieve outstanding results, I will always have a discussion with my clients before the actual photo shooting. During that session the client’s needs will be identified and the photo shooting will be planned accordingly. Last but not least it is also important to establish a positive mood and kind of relationship with the client for the time of the shooting to able to guide the client towards an authentic expression. In my experience this is actually the one and only item, which finally makes the difference.

Below gallery shows a selection of my results from previous portrait photo sessions.
